Alexis goes to School

My last view of Alexis when I left her at Spotted Haven Walking Horse Farm for a refresher training course before I start riding her. I was like.. "Bye Alexis." And she was like "huh? What? Sorry I'm eating.. oh yeah... bye."

Vaccination Time

Jagger and Alexis got their Coggins and Vacs done today. Alexis will be going off to the trainer later this month. Jagger has to return to the vet next week to have his wolf teeth pulled. Other than that, both he and Alexis got a clean bill of heath.

Hot Mess!

Jagger says.. "Check out my blankie, yo." And Alexis says.. "What you got there? Can I eat it?"
So far this week, Alexis has destroyed my hose, ruined my sprayer, taken another bite out of the golf cart, made massive dirty nose prints (and licked the entire windshield) on the back hoe guys truck (he parked in the pasture), run off with part of the wind chime, stolen a couple of water bottles, beaten Jagger with the danglies she stole from the wind chime and crushed a bucket by flipping it over and standing on it (I don't know, perhaps she thinks she's in the circus -- cause whenever she's around -- It's a CIRCUS). I love her even though she's a hot MESS.

Bonded

 

Alexis and I have become very bonded in the year I've had her. I can't wait to ride this girl.  

Jagger is a sweetheart but we aren't as bonded. He certainly is a beauty though.

Bath Time

Cody  got a trim, bath and conditioning today! (all I got was wet)..

Herd Boss Blues

Cody was so bad today. First, I couldn't catch him (walked out into the pasture with a halter in my hand). Then once I caught him I tied him to the trailer and brought T over for him to greet. He acted like a raging wild stallion --- THEN pulled back on the halter and about broke his neck.. TWICE. He was so bad.

Once I got him in the trailer and loaded T with him all was fine. And he was fine at the vets (Coggins). But he's always been so good. He's just so full of himself as the herd boss. Time to work his butt off....

Moving to the New Barn

Mother's Day!

I had a lovely Mothers day. Spoke with Marshall Byers yesterday, Valarie Baru Byers on the phone today, and spent the day with Luc Marrero. We rode Cody and Annie around the pasture this morning, then we took Cody over to the new barn and let him chill in it, while we watched Toy Story 3 and some episodes of Psych (and I worked a while). I took Cody for a walk around the trails out back and the obstacle trail. Beautiful day. Thank you to my wonderful children!

Jagger 14.2

So I expect Alexis might go another inch before she's done growing. And Jagger might go another 2 or 3. ( But Jaggers coronet band to knee measure was 16 inches, so by that he'd top out at 16, but I just don't think he's going to hit it).
